ELIZABETH Terrier Senior - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Crossville, Tennessee

$80

ELIZABETH is a special dog.

She is a redheaded senior lady, a Terrier mix who is about 7-8 years of age, and she weighs 20 lbs.

According to her paperwork, she has tumors on her back and belly and there is mammary involvement - possibly cancer.

Do these shelter dogs ever get adopted?

Yes, they sometimes do.

Other times, they end up going home with a shelter volunteer to live out their remaining days.

We cannot say for sure at this point that it is cancer and, if it is, how long she still has on earth.

Some people actually prefer an older dog like Elizabeth, as opposed to a rambunctious puppy.

It cannot hurt to come see her and to talk with staff about her if you might be interested in adopting her or finding a way to help her.

Adoption fees are $80 for dogs.

Cat adoption fees are $50.
The shelter routinely vaccinates all healthy appearing animals upon their arrival at the shelter and deworms them.

Any animals not already spayed/neutered must have the procedure done through the veterinary clinic that contracts with the county before that animal can be released from the clinic to the new family. By state law, animals old enough to be given a rabies vaccine, must have that vaccine done, as well.

The vaccine is given by the veterinary clinic staff at a separate cost to the adoptive family.

Hold periods for every incoming animal vary for several reasons including, but not limited to, whether the animal came in from the Cumberland County area, or from the City of Crossville, which contracts with the county for its animal shelter services.

Check with the staff to verify the availability date of every animal for which you have an interest.

For more information on this pet, call the shelter at (. The shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Closed Wednesday and Sunday and county observed holidays.
